Winner of RegioStars Awards 2011


SLIM, a structural fund projects in Northen Central Sweden, took home first prize in the European Commission's prestigious contest RegioStars Awards 2011. Region Värmland is the project in collaboration with Dalarna Region (where Triple Steelix is included) and Region Gävleborg.





- Slim took home first prize in RegioStars 2011 is really pleasing and a great recognition for the successful work done in Northen Central Sweden to develop all types of clusters based on the interaction between companies, society and academia, says per Persson, Programme Manager for the Northen Central Sweden. SLIM project creates a clear added value by strengthening and developing the cluster that occurs in the region.

The project, funded by the Regional Structural Funds Programme Northen Central Sweden, is working to develop knowledge in Innovative environments and clusters. Member companies are thus given the opportunity to find new ways to develop their activities with each other, academia and other international actors.

SLIM, which accounts for system management of innovative environments and clustering processes in the north central Sweden, received an award in the category of anticipating economic changes.
