An Excellent Center is a form of cooperation between business community and the public sector as well as institutes of higher education, research institutes and other research organizations. The focus is on both basic research and applied research aimed at discovering new knowledge and techniques that will lead to new products, processes and services.
Wind power production & service
The purpose of this project is to attract new companies and jobs to the region, mainly in the service sector. Expansion of wind power will provide business opportunities for subcontractors in the steel and engineering industries in the Triple Steelix region. Location: Falun.
FindIT – Industrial it
FindIT is a competence center for industrial IT with a focus on IT issues for SMEs. It aims to strengthen their competitiveness by developing Industrial IT support and promoting cooperation between different companies and industries with respect to industrial IT. Location: Sandviken.
Clean Production Center (CPC)
CPC is the base for companies working on development of technology, skills and forms of cooperation for environmentally efficient and profitable steel production. The region has good prospects for generating new industrial business based on the needs created by conversion to sustainable development. Location: Hofors.
High Voltage Valley (HVV)
HVV is an initiative in which business community, public sector and university cooperate to improve tomorrow’s technology and entrepreneurship and to strengthen the region's position as global leader in electric power engineering. Location: Ludvika.
SCIENCE PARKS
Science parks, which are often closely connected with nearby institutes of higher learning, offer a stimulating and nurturing environment for growing research and development businesses. A science park can also be described as a place where people, ideas, knowledge and creativity meet.
Movexum is Gävleborg’s regional business incubator a creative developmental environment for emerging companies. Support is available in the form of business coaching and when needed, shared office space with other emerging companies. Movexum provides access to expertise, contacts and capital.
Stiftelsen Teknikdalen, business incubator. Initiates, runs and participates in regional, national and international projects and also facilitates the development of new business concepts and innovations from idea to market. All activities are aimed at generating increased regional growth and development.
Sandbacka Park is a technology park with a focus on technology and IT companies in the greater Sandviken region.
The Roll Forming Center (RFC) mainly does roll-forming of tubes in high strength steels and new steel grades, as well as in different sizes for steel producers and user companies.
