2 500 new jobs in Ludvika


Region cooperation council of Dalarna and Swedish Agency for Economical and regional Growth - Tillväxtverket sets for Ludvika and initiates Industrial Package Ludvika to solve the challenge Ludvika stands for, 2000 and 2500 new jobs.
- The challenge faced in Ludvika, compared with about Stockholm would have 200 000 new jobs, says Göran Carlsson, Regional Director of Region cooperation council of Dalarna.




- We work with a package we call the industrial package Ludvika and Growth Board has pressed several times during the summer for it to get permission. We expect to have the proposal reached the decision in the Dalarna Region in October, says Region Dalarna President Göran Carlsson.

- What is needed is to coordinate all community resources nationally, regionally and locally to work with industry in Ludvika cope with the huge challenges faced in Ludvika municipality within a few years to solve the challenge between 2000 and 2500 new jobs.

- The challenge faced in Ludvika, compared with about Stockholm would have 200 000 new jobs. It shows the challenge we face in a municipality with 25,000 inhabitants. It is terrible many new jobs for such a small municipality, says Göran Carlsson.

- What is happening in Ludvika is unique in Sweden. ABB expands, Spendrup builds Sweden's largest brewery Grängesberg, Boston Power is planning a battery factory and we have the restart of iron ore mines in Grängesberg Blötberget and Håksberg. All these new job entails moving, lack of housing more community services, education, transport as Growth Board is very keen to contribute, says Göran Carlsson.

- We will send the money into the Industrial Package Ludvika. We are now working up a steering group and we know that ABB wins this so seriously and put their Ludvika Head of the Steering Group to be formed, says Göran Carlsson, who expects more information about the package soon and that it now is keen to keep a high tempo in the project.
